Dr. Rajesh Raju George

Dr. Rajesh Raju George is an experienced Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) Specialist in Kerala. He graduated from Calicut Medical College and later completed his Masters in ENT from the same institution in 2000. He then worked as a consultant in a private hospital in Malappuram. In 2001 he was called to join the prestigious Christian charitable hospital – Little Flower Hospital & Research Centre – in Cochin District (Angamaly). Dr. Rajesh has been heading the ENT Department at this hospital since 2008. The department sees more than 100 patients daily and conducts surgeries three times a week.

Dr. Rajesh George has a keen interest in endoscopic assisted ENT surgeries. As a Consultant with Little Flower, which is also known for its Ophthalmology expertise, Dr. Rajesh has gained vast experience in endoscopic assisted orbital surgeries including DCR (dacryocystorhinostomy), orbital and optic nerve decompressions, medial orbital tumours, and medial orbital wall reconstructions. He routinely performs endoscopic skull base surgery including CSF leak repair and pituitary surgery, extended endoscopic maxillectomy surgery and functional endoscopic sinus surgery.

Dr. Rajesh has travelled extensively to attend live surgical workshops and cadaver workshops in India and abroad, the most recent being to Singapore General Hospital to attend the famous workshops spearheaded by Dr. DS Sethi. He has also visited Italy and Canada, to observe and interact with renowned surgeons and professors related to his areas of specialisation.

Earlier in his career Dr. Rajesh George trained under Dr. Manoj MP, an accomplished cochlear implant surgeon in Kerala, and over the years has gained extensive experience in hearing restoration surgeries, tympanoplasty and stapedotomy. A year’s exposure to the MESIARC programme at Dr. Manoj’s ENT Superspeciality Institute enabled Dr. Rajesh to initiate the cochlear implant programme at Little Flower Hospital. He recently visited Dr. Mario Sanno’s Gruppo Otologica in Italy to learn about lateral skull base surgery, and is now doing a fellowship / observership at the first ever lateral skull base programme initiated by Dr. Sampath Chandra Prasad in Bangalore.

Dr. Rajesh George has a special interest in voice therapy and surgical therapy to improve the quality of voice. He developed this interest after training under Dr. Jayakumar (Audiologist), and treating voice disorders has now become an integral part of his schedule. Dr. Rajesh is also interested in the study and treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea – this is the newest subdivision set up by him in the ENT Department at Little Flower Hospital.

On the personal front, Dr. Rajesh loves music, movies and all sports. He still finds the time for badminton in the early hours of the morning. He is passionate about movies, and was part of the production team and acted in a Malayalam movie, Kadha Paranoia Kadha, released in 2018, directed and scripted by his closest friend Dr. Situ Jawahar, a psychiatrist by profession.
